In celebration of its 100th anniversary, InterContinental New York Barclay embarked on Journey to 100, a yearlong celebration inviting guests to experience the hotel’s rich history through the five senses.
Throughout the year, each sense has brought a different chapter of The Barclay’s story to life, creating new ways to experience a century of New York history, hospitality and timeless glamour.

Founded in 1752, Caswell-Massey is America’s original apothecary and perfumery, with a legacy spanning nearly three centuries. But one of its most storied chapters unfolded right here at The Barclay.
Caswell-Massey made its home at Lexington Avenue and 48th Street within The Barclay, where its legendary flagship became a New York destination and remained for 85 years. Behind its doors, the art of the apothecary and perfumery flourished, from bespoke fragrances created for discerning clientele to celebrated scents that became part of the brand’s enduring legacy.
