Our Sustainable Hotel Practices

The InterContinental New York Barclay’s responsible business plan follows the guidance of our parent company, InterContinental Hotels Group and focuses on the Triple Bottom Line of Economic Prosperity, Environmental Protection and Social Responsibility. We aim for our sustainability strategy – which aligns with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development – to become the benchmark for sustainable hotels.

In September 2015, world leaders adopted the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, calling for action by all countries to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all.  For the goals to be reached, everyone needs to do their part: private sector, civil society, and governments.  It calls on us as global citizens to help improve the lives of people everywhere.

We strongly believe that with a thoughtful approach to how we manage our eco-friendly hotel, we are able to decrease our environmental footprint while positively impacting our society. By partnering with organizations we feel make a difference for people and planet, we continue the pursuit of behaving as responsible global citizens for a better world. Stay at our green hotel and see how hotel sustainability is at the core of what we do.
